DIN-EN Globe Valve
What's the DIN-EN globe valve?
DIN-EN Globe valve is designed and manufactured according to former Germany standard,DIN and nowadays European standard EN13709.it's mainly used in the countries in European Union.
it's linear motion closing-down valve used to start, stop or regulate the flow using a closure member referred as a disc. The seat opening changes proportionately with the travel of the disc which is ideal for duties involving flow regulation. the DIN-EN Globe valves are most suitable and widely used to control or stop the flow of liquid or gas through a pipe for throttling and controlling fluid flow and are generally employed in small size piping.
the DIN-EN Globe valves can be used for throttling purposes as well.Many single-seated valve bodies use cage or retainer-style construction to retain the seat-ring, provide valve plug guiding, and provide a means for establishing particular valve flow characteristics. it can also be easily modified by change of trim parts to change the flow characteristic or provide reduced-capacity flow, noise attenuation, or reduction or elimination of cavitation.
the DIN-EN globe valves can also be modified as globe check valve,SDNR(screw down non-return),with both function of globe valve and check valve(non-return valve).for the high pressure and severe working conditions,the bellows seal is also available on request.
normally there are three primary body patterns or designs for DIN-EN Globe valves:
- 1).Standard Pattern (also as Tee Pattern or T – Pattern or Z – Pattern)
- 2).Angle Pattern
- 3).Oblique Pattern (also known as Wye Pattern or Y – Pattern)

- 1).Short travel distance of the disc(stroke) between the open and closed positions,DIN-EN globe valves are ideal if the valve has to be opened and closed frequently;
- 2).Good sealing capabilities
- 3).There is wide range of capabilities as available in standard pattern(streght pattern),Angle pattern,and Wye pattern(Y pattern).
- 4).The DIN-EN globe valve can be used as a SDNR valve,globe-check valve by modifying the design slightly.
- 5).Easy Machining and resurfacing of the seats,for various purposes.
- 6).Moderate to good throttling capability,by modifying the structure of seat and disc.
- 7).Widely used in all the countries in European union,and some other countries as well.
- 8).Bellows seal is available on request.
